Carol Selby - Clerk / Treasurer

Carol was appointed to the Clerk / Treasurer position with the Town of Albion in May, 2004, replacing the departing Clerk / Treasurer a few months after the election. Carol is currently serving in her fourth term as the Clerk / Treasurer for the Town.

Carol graduated with distinction from Indiana University with an Associate of Science in Business degree in May, of 2003.

She became an "Indiana Accredited Municipal Clerk" through the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers in June of 2010.
- Carol has been further accredited through the Indiana's Association of Cities and Towns' Municipal Management Institutes by being named a "Certified Municipal Official" in 2015.
Some of Carol's Duties & Responsibilities

Clerk /Treasurer is responsible for both managing the finances of the Town as well as serving as Clerk to the town's legislative body. This is a daunting task involving many duties. This includes managing and monitoring the town funds and investments, producing annual budgets, processing payroll, and maintaining accounts payable and receivable.

She is also responsible for completing clerk duties such as attending council meetings and recording them, composing reports and letters on behalf of the city council and city, and preparing materials for city council meetings, including conducting research and writing reports to help council members make informed decisions.

Carol may also be responsible for other administrative duties, including processing permits and licenses, supervising office staff, and ensuring the town is in compliance with national and state regulations.
